Contoura vision
Contoura Vision TopoGuided LASIK is a new technology developed to enhance the benefits that come from LASIK (Standard LASIK/ Femto-LASIK). It corrects vision based on corneal topography (corneal curvature maps) and also topolyser, contrast to an improvement in vision during the standard LASIK procedure that is dependent on prescriptions for contact lenses.
What is it that makes Contoura Vision so unique?
Corneal topography and Topolyser is able to capture the smallest of irregularities within the cornea’s curvature. It measures 22000 points in comparison to the current wavefront-guided LASIK that is able to measure around 200 points. The measurements are then merged with the prescription of the patient’s glasses and a customized treatment plan is created and programed to the laser.
What does it do?
Because Contoura Vision combines refractive prescription with corneal topography maps, it gives better quality vision for patients. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) findings show that patients who took advantage of this procedure experienced a significant improvement in their vision and could see better without the use of corrective lenses. According to clinical trial data, nearly 95% of those after surgery were able to see as well or better without glasses than they had with contact lenses.
